Student Life

Academics

Shenandoah Baptist Academy provides students with a safe learning environment. Every teacher seeks to help students achieve their God-given potential by providing them with an excellent education. With an average class size of ten students, learners are given a high degree of attention to their progress and challenged to apply their knowledge to life.

The academy is mindful of the need for high-quality textbooks. Materials from Abeka Books and Bob Jones University Press have proven records for presenting superior instruction that leads to the mastery of information within the framework of a biblical worldview.

Shenandoah Baptist Academy is a member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools and the American Association of Christian Schools.

Chapel

Each Friday, students meet for a chapel service. Preachers, missionaries, and Bible teachers from the area give of their time to present truth from the Bible. Students are presented with the truth of the Gospel, given instruction in living a life that is surrendered to God’s plan, and called to be a testimony to their family and community.

Athletics

Students have the opportunity to join sports teams and learn dedication, teamwork, and discipline. Elementary students receive instruction in fundamental basketball skills through an exciting intramural program. Middle and high school students develop their abilities through teams including girls volleyball, girls basketball, and boys basketball.

Fine Arts

Trained, experienced faculty members help students to cultivate their talents in choir, band, piano, drama, and art. Students are instructed in traditional methods and are challenged to develop their abilities in fine arts. Through opportunities including concerts, plays, and fine arts competitions, students discover their interests and hone their skills as singers, instrumentalists, actors, and artists.
